Armour is a stat shown just below the attack damage of a troll. It reduces the amount of damage dealt to the troll (or vice versa with negative armour), thus it needs to be taken into consideration. Armour can be boosted with a range of coats in island troll tribes, and is usually quite effective when combined with a lot of food. The Scroll of Stone Skin also significantly boosts armour.
Armor and Damage TypesEdit
Diminishing Returns of ArmourEdit
- For positive Armor, damage reduction =((armor)*0.06)/(1+0.06*(armor))
- For negative Armor, it is damage increase = 2-0.94^(-armor) since you take more damage for negative armor scores.
A Positive Armor of 1 reduces damage by about 5.7%. A negative armor of 10 increases damage by 46.1%. Although the formula for armor may look intimidating, it actually works out to mean that one point of armor means +6% HP. So a unit with 20 armor basically has 120% extra hitpoints -- 100 would become effectively 220.
|Armor||% Reduction||Armor||% Bonus Damage|
Battle armor adds +9 armor. This, with a base of 0 armor would be 35% reduction.
Now lets say you get hit by a tracker's greater track. It is -4 armor. Greater track on something with 0 armor would be -22% reduction. Greater track on a target with battle armor is a total of +5 armor. That means works out too 23% reduction instead of 35%, for a total drop of 12% instead of the usual 22%.
- For every 10 agility, heroes get one armor.
- Armor does increase as real numbers, so 5 agility will give bonus armor, just not very much.
